Paintout Co-Ordinator's Report

September 2010
Rain has made our locations a little soggy; even when the sun is shining some are still very soggy underfoot.
September 7th will take us to paint the waratahs along Patonga Drive in the Brisbane Water Na-tional Park. There is a car park and a locked gate at the start of Van Dahl's walking track. It is a beautiful location but note there are no loos, the nearest being on the Pearl Beach waterfront. The location will be well marked in some way, you will know where it is.
Picnic Point Reserve at The Entrance has wonderful vistas out over Tuggerah Lake and there is a good picnic area.
Sept. 21 takes us to Mount Penang Gardens and Parklands. The new entrance is well-signposted so follow the signs. You can still use the old entrance but I noticed they are doing road works along there. Inside the Parklands, we will meet at the Coffee Shop along Parklands Drive. Those who want to paint inside the gardens there will be a small entry fee to pay. The gardens should be at their best as they would be part of the Flora Festival held the previous weekend.
Pioneer Park at Point Frederick has always been a popular location. There is a pathway down to the waterfront. This would be one of the top spots for a wide panorama of Brisbane Water.
The little boat shed on Hardy's Bay is a very well painted subject. There is also the Killcare marina and vistas across to the Rip Bridge.
Come along and join in, morning tea is at 10am and lunch is at 12 noon.
